Procrastinating

you might have notice that instead of blogging about my progress in the game, I've been posting movie reviews instead. Well, the title says it all. Well, not entirely.

The truth is, i got stuck. i cant seem to beat the bloody zombies. I actually just starting to play the game again so have patience with me. I'm getting there. I just have to remember how to play again. XD

Stoker review

Let me see, the minute the movie ends i thought "How disturb are the people who made this". There is no denying that Mia and Nicole's performance are great as usual but the story is just weird and a tiny bit disturbing. They are probably trying to get into the head of a psychopaths, and if I'm right I probably board my doors and windows.

Overall 8/10 for me.

R. I. P. D. review

As a story? it suck. As a movie? it suck even more.

I thought it would be great since its a promising story line but no. they choice it to be a flop. There's not even a single pick of Ryan Reynolds body. This movie can R.I.P. and they don't need the freaking department for that.

The Silver Lining Review

I just got off from a barbeque at the beach and I just feel so tired but its only 11pm and for me 11pm is still too early to sleep. So instead of breaking the habit of sleeping late I watch a movie instead.

The silver lining movie did not made me cry. Well, I did but just a dribble which does not count as crying. I haven't read the book so I can't compare it to the movie. All I can say is that I am a hundred percent or more agree to Jenifer Lawrence winning the award for best actress on this movie. This movie touches a different part of my heart that has been rarely touched. Its like inspiration, love, pity, hope and something else I can't describe all together. The screenplay is just so smooth, like running you finger on the highest quality silk. This movie is so beautiful yet painful. I could only imagine living is such situation; discrimination, disgust of other people and, most of all, the pity of the people around you.
Here's the thing, seeing this movie makes me see the world in whole different way. It makes me feel grateful at the same time guilty of how I treated others because I can totally see my self videoing other peoples mishaps. But anyway. Its an awesome story that touches your core at the deepest. And a touch of Chris Tucker made it even better.

P.S.

Its so nice to see Chris Tucker is a calm manner. It was refreshing actually. I mean in Rush Hour he was just plain annoying.

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunter review

First of all, this is not (obviously) part of my adventures in secret world but since I was playing secret world while waiting for the time I thought I might as well include it.

Now, Hansel and Gretel is one of those stories which I read as a child. Not because I love it but because I like the pictures. I'm one of those kids who only open books where there's pictures on it.

I think the screen writers can do better than this. I mean, there are some parts of the movies that just over the top. Although exploding bodies are quite awesome, its not as great as I thought it would be. And yeas, I was a bit disappointed. My friend also laugh at me for my poor movie choices.

Its not all bad, there are great moments like when the troll named Edward stepped on the Sheriffs head and it splattered on the ground.

So if I rate this movie, it would be a 6/10

Loots: The White vs the Green Loot

There are two types of loots in secret world. As you might have noticed; the green loot contains either potion or wearable goods e.g. ring, trinket or mark plus some cash. The white one contains raw materials for assembly and runes. If you ask me which one I prefer I would choose the green loot.

The green loot not only provide you with useful items and potions, it is also my main source of raw materials for assembly. As I have mentioned in my previous post, unwanted items can still be disassembled, or if not, sold.  Where as the white loot solely contains raw materials.

In Savage Coast, white loots are more common than the green which is a bummer because they mostly contains runes which is pretty much useless if you don't have the item to put a glyph into. So this is the reason why I drifted back to Kingsmouth zone. Although I have done most of the quest that I have seen around I still continue to search for new quest hiding somewhere. Adios!

Oh! Holy crap.. you can't even make glyphs because you would need a glyph toolkit which cannot be bought, you can only get them from drops. Damn you creators!

Jonh Wilf: Taking the Purple

My mother use to say "I'm not afraid of monsters since they are not real but I am afraid of humans that can actually hurt me"
In Taking the Purple quest you are in fact fighting our fellow human beings. Not like its something new, but still in situation like the doom of the world in coming you would expect everyone to band together and fight it arm to arm. Bu no! some greedy bastard wants to possess this doom instead.
So in this quest you are fighting the 4th secret society. You'll find a dead body in front of the carnival only its not like anything you've seen before. This person has been shot dead. Have you ever seen a zombie with a gun?? No, as far as I know there is none. You will then folly the trail ob dead bodies and infiltrate their HQ. You'll have to go through another set of security camera's and lasers. Its easy though so you don't have to worry about that. You'll have to access their computer, deactivate the security and then look at the camera around the carnival. Thar would be the end of that tier. the next thing you'll have to do is locate the camera's and destroy it. All of the camera's are inside the carnival so be careful of those psycho's running around. Locating the camera's are easy since you are provided with a tracker, just right click on it, and off you go. Now, locating them is easy but destroying them is a bit difficult if you just hit it without any knowledge.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that you are not looking for the actual camera, you are looking for the box that supply the power to the camera, sort of the like a fuse box. Anyway, those boxes are most like to be in a building. Destroying them can be fatal, and may even result to death, if you're not prepared. Those box will electrocute the crap out of you no matter how far you are.  I suggest you give it your strongest attack skill. The faster you do it the better.
The last box is in the carnival parking lot. its beside the tree so its easy to see. The hard bit is killing the Squad leader of those hoodlums. If you are in rank three of your secret society then you probably met this guy or you already knows how he fights. Bombs and shit that kicked my ass for the third time. I still haven't gave him a payback. I nearly killed him but he manage to kill me first before I could give him the final blow.
So, good luck. Kick ass later.

John Wolf: League of the Monster Slayers

Savage Coast has a lot of other variety of monsters. The are stronger, uglier and , well, weirder. Just imagine a giant aphid trying to kill you, and I shit you not, they are absolutely horrendous. Anyway, I'm down with Kingsmouth's quest so now I'm starting a whole lot of quest. It is sometimes very exciting imagining new monsters to encounter.
I started with John Wolf, you will see him at the town in Savage coast sitting in his porch.

Me talking to John Wolf, I swear he looks like an American Indian.

The League of the Monsters Slayers (LMS) quest is the first one on his list. He will ask you to find the LMS HQ.

I sometimes think that this guy is being overly dramatic.

No problem, its mark on the map. The real pain in the ass is how to get there. The woods where the tree house is located became sort of a nest for those giant aphids. You cant fight your way in because there are just so many of them and there are just hundreds of hatch-lings guarding the ground you will surely get over powered.

You have to go through this before you reach the ladder.

Don't worry because there is one simple solution - FEAR; Fuck Everything And Run. You have to get to the ladder up to the tree house as fast as you can. Once your on the tree house they wont be able to reach you. So there you go, tier one complete!
The next tiers are pretty simple. I say simple not easy. You just have to go to the locations they ask you to go. The key to this is stealth. Don't let your self gang up specially when you play solo like I do. One other thing I like about this game is that there are a lot of things you can do alone.
Anyway, for every location you go into there is almost always something that is coming out after you do the deed except for when you get to pick the black rose. Unless of course you manage to wake the sleeping one. If your smart, you can actually sneak on him.
At the last  part of the quest you would then go to a filth pool then spit on it. When I got to the pool I was a bit clueless on how to spit. Clearly I would have known by now if TSW have such commands but there's isn't. As all of my problems I googled it. Then I discovered that you have to type - /spit - and your character would actually spit on the pool. I actually think that the whole spitting thing is funny. Where can you find spitting in other games? Let alone in a pool of filth that you're gonna fight later on.

After fighting on the pool you then need to go look for the LMS note. And guess what? All those things you did; going to shortcuts and poking on dead bodies are part of an initiation to become a member of LMS. So now you are officially one! CONGRATULATIONS!

Dawn of an Endless Night

Dawn of an end less night is 18 tier quest. This the second (I think) main quest you would stumble on. The thing about main quests is that every level has a different difficulty that will test your skills and courage. Cheating is a part of the game but killing and avoiding beasts and monsters are skills.
In tier 10, you will have to go to Savage coast, it sort of, the south of Kingsmouth (pronounced as kings-mith). The thing about Secret World is that, unlike other games, you wont go sight seeing or exploring new territories because it will get you killed. You don't even wanna go into the wood because of fear of giant insects; Savage coast's woods are crawling with them. This is the first game that made me wanna stay in town all the time, but unfortunately, you can't. Quest makes you go into odd places and monsters nest and kill zombie athlete that runs in the wood. Some even want to spar with you.
I suggest, when doing the Dawn of an Endless Night, be prepared. Get your hands on as many health potion and buffs as much as possible because you're gonna need it. If you don't have any and is confuse on the assembly process then google the damn thing.
My best tip on acquiring those materials needed is to disassemble unwanted items. So don't go selling all your stuff in the vendors without checking if you can get stuff out of it.Good Luck, you're gonna need it. Unless you're a pro and just reading this thinking how stupid I am, then go to hell with your pro-ness.

Rising to Rank Three: The Messenger

If you read my first post I mentioned that XP points are only use to rise rank in your Secret Society. From Novice to Follower, and from last night, to a Messenger. Rising ranks is not easy from here on. You have to complete a Mission, and in my case, I went to New York to intercept a  transaction.

In the Mission I have to go into an underground car park, where the transaction is happening, and intercept it. What happened next is absolutely horrifying. I have to freaking destroy the circuit breaker killing all the lights. It was pitch black. I was shaking a bit and was in a panic.

This car park has a lot of floor and you have to go to the bottom. There are about 5 to 7 floor and you have to go through them all with only a head torch found the in security room ,that keeps dying on me, as a source of light. Since the light keeps dying I absolutely recommend to open another Bag and pin it into the screen.

To create a new bag press the plus button, put the torch (and later the flare gun) and press the pin icon at the top left. By doing so, you can access the bag even if you the inventory is close.
So, I went down to the floors, killing Filth - corrupter Mobsters, and found two agents are killed. No Shame if you died next because I did too. Five mobsters then beat the crap out of me. I manage to kill them all after my second try.

Notice at the back of the vehicle there's a box of flare guns.  Get those as there are very useful as you go back up and put them in the bag with the head torch. By this time the torch will be dying on you frequently, that is when the flare gun is most useful.
This part of you quest you have to be very vigilant if you don't want to die and go back to the bottom floor to start over again. Use the flare gun to light the path ahead because you don't know what lairs in the shadow.

At about three floors up, you will then encounter an unknown agent that's gonna kill you. He is responsible of the death of those two agents at the bottom floor and its part of the quest to kill him. He will keep bombing you so keep moving but don't stray far because there are Shades in there and you don't want the Shade and the freaking Agent to gang up on you. It killed me twice, that bastard. Either use long range or magic but if you don't use either your fucked. Ha! Not really, just avoid those bombs at all cost. After killing that Agent you are then order to come back to London and receive your promotion.

After I finished this quest I have to take a minute to breath and my hands can't stop shaking. I apologize that I didn't have any screen caps as I was too much in a panic that utterly forgot about everything else. Instead here is SpineLeg.
Finally a Rank Three!!

Alixxis "SpineLeg" Fox

Alixxis is just your average girl who just like going to party way too much, even going to the Templars she wears party cloths. She's about 23 working in a small accounting firm as an Admin. Her past jobs includes being a prostitute. Lol, I'm kidding.

She's a very serious person and had very few good friends. She is bound by a secret in her past. What past? I have no idea.

Character Creation tips

When I first started playing TSW, It bugged me that I can only create three characters. But as I continue playing the game I thought "What a brilliant idea! Now I wont be tempted to create new characters like i did to other games". If you still don't get it then think of it this way, imagine you are writing an essay that is due the next day. if you keep changing your mind about the topic then you wont have any progress.

Anyway, when creating your character you get to customize the face, hair, makeup, height (no weight) and your cloths. I wont give you any details except the initial  face is ugly. Clearly whoever made them have weird taste or no taste at all. Thankfully you can choose to look human as you scroll through the options. When you finish customizing your looks, you then select a Secret Society. As I mention on my last post, there are three; Illuminati, Templars and the Dragons. Illumination's are based in Brooklyn, New York, Templar are in London and the Dragons are in Seoul, Korea. These Secret Society bonded together to save the human kind from the Darkness that's approaching. Pick one of them.

Weapons
In this game there are three types and within each type there are three kinds.

Melee - Blade, Fist and Hammer
Range - Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun
Magic - Chaos, Elemental and Blood

Now, when you pick your weapon you should choose properly and take your time deciding what you are comfortable with because you will have to invest time and a huge amount of effort to improve your weapon and skills. I don't even think you can reset your any of your points so choose wisely.

We Should Start at the bottom

For those who are wondering "What is Secret World?" Well, its just the best game ever made. An Online base RPG, not for free, which is very unique and very damn difficult to play (if your a noob like me).

More details HERE

Anyway, in this game, you are one of the thousand whom accidentally ate a bee, which will then trigger you to discover your powers. You then get to chose which of the three secret society you want to join. You can either choose Illuminati, Templar's, or the Dragons. In the story line, the Illuminati and the Templar's are ancient enemies, and the Dragons are simply enjoying the show like a parent to their offspring when they fight each other or something like that. My main character is Templar member if you are wondering. I don't really think there's any difference, its just the way they present themselves, all dark and mysterious.

When I purchased this game i didn't pay attention to the requirements at all, I only realize it when i read the requirements as I was Installing the game. Lucky that my laptop is only lacking in the graphics so that was fine. Its a bit slow but otherwise its fine.So if you are planing to buy the game please do read the requirements or take this TEST, I assure you that its harmless.

Although I like horror movies, zombies still scares the shit out of me. I couldn't even watch The Walking Dead alone, so why am I playing secret world? to tell you honestly, after playing it for a night or two I stopped. Being scared of monsters in this game is only a small part of the reason why I quit. The real reason is the uniqueness of this game.

You see, in this game you dont level. You don't rely on the perks of leveling, you rely on your self as you improve as a gamer. In this game, you as a gamer must improve your fighting techniques. Yes, you still gain experience points and yes, you get skills but if you don't improve as a gamer it makes no difference. Experience points, in this game, is only for your ranking in your secret society. Other than that, its pretty useless.
When I first played, I sucked.I'm not exaggerating I really do suck plus the stress that the zombies are giving overwhelms me. But after a year of playing other games the internet has to offer I am finally back here in Secret World and I am equipped with more experience and guts to kill those freaking zombies.
